29 June 2012: City Prosecutor’s Office in General Santos dismissed the libel suit filed against freelance journalist Edwin Espejo by Mohammad “Bong” Aquia, former head of the Presidential Anti-Smuggling Group in Central Mindanao. The case was filed on February 2012 on the basis that the articles written online by Espejo in MindaNews and Asian Correspondent impugns malice naming Aquia as a “dealer of stolen car”.
