This Monday on Usapang Media ng NUJP: State of the Philippine Media
This Monday, the 16th of July, segment host Deo Bugaoisan (of GMA 7) will
discuss the state of Philippine media in the last year. The rampant killings
of journalists, the Human Security Act (also known as the Anti-Terror
Law), and libel and harassment cases against journalists, such as Maritess
Vitug of Newsbreak and Delfin Mallari Jr. of PDI Southern Luzon Bureau,
will be discussed.
There will also be two live reports: Jason Torres (or Faye Tobias) of ABC5 for the Supreme Court summit on civil rights and extrajudicial killings; and Malu Manar, NUJP Kidapawan chair, for an update on the attempted murder on local radio commentator Alberto Martinez.
“Usapang Media ng NUJP” is a regular segment in Ricky Lee’s daily program, “Ano Ba’ng Atin Kabayan”, and is broadcasted by dwAD 1098 khz, from 3:30 to 4 p.m. every Monday.
