Associate publisher in Pampanga receives threats
Grace Santos, associate publisher of local weekly paper SIPOL, has been
receiving threats after publishing a news article on the arrest of three
local policemen extorting from an imprisoned drug suspect.
According to Santos, some members of the local police told her to be
careful after the release of the news article on the three policemen
in their January 13-17 issue. The three men are members of the local
Drug Enforcement Unit.
After this encounter, the threats came in various forms, such as motorcycle-riding men passing by her house every night, from the 10th to the 14th of January.
Santos is now hiding in an undisclosed place.
